Town Receives Grant for Greening of Post Road
The Connecticut Urban Forest Council and the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection have awarded the Town of Fairfield with a $5000 grant to plant over 60 new trees along the Post Road this spring. First Selectman Kenneth A. Flatto said, "This important grant funding will help Fairfield further beautify our downtown area, improve the tax base of economic corridors like the Post Road and help the environment. We take very seriously the planting and preservation of trees that are a practical, yet shrewd investment for current and future generations."
